Why Lie? I Need a Drink TV Edit

We're currently working on editing our documentary, Why Lie? I Need a Drink, for television. We have to cut it down from 74 minutes to 69 minutes for a 90 minute slot. That leaves 20 minutes for ads and 1 minute for station identification. We cut all the stuff that can't be broadcast, ie language, nudity etc. Now we just have one more minute to cut and re-format for commercial breaks.

Check out the trailer

Apprehensive Films & Keith Lowell Jensen

Even though Apprehensive Films is mainly a cult horror movie label, we do go into some other areas when the content is entertaining and we see a market for it. Last year we took on an odd challenge of putting out a stand up comedy CD by comedian Keith Lowell Jensen. Obviously Apprehensive Films' relationship with Jensen goes way back. Last year we put out his live comedy CD "To The Moon... Live at Luna's" and we have the documentary starring Jensen "Why Lie? I Need a Drink" hitting DVD later this year.

"To The Moon... Live at Luna's" was very successful. The CD and digital downloads sold quite well. We ended up getting the CD in numerous retail outlets like Amazon, CD Universe and more. The digital downloads made it into Napster, Itunes, La La and a ton more. Upon the success of last year's release we decided to follow it up with a new CD/DVD release of Jensen's new stand up routine. We're currently in talks with some larger labels that are interested in the project, so this one maybe going very wide. We'll keep you posted....

In the mean time pick up "To The Moon... Live at Luna's" at:

Colony DVD in Scary Monsters Magazine

For those of you not familiar with Scary Monsters Magazine, it's a great horror movie magazine. Very much a throw back to the old days of Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine. We've been advertising in Scary Monsters for about a year now with 1/4 page ads. We decided to run two full page ads in the new issue that just hit stands, issue 75. The results have been solid and to our surprise, almost all the orders to come in from the magazine have been through direct mail! It just goes to show, there's a big market out there that doesn't spend 23 hours a day in front of a computer. Check out Scary Monsters at http://www.scarymonstersmag.com

Pick up issue 75 and see our full page ads for our new DVD release of the Super8mm cult classic Colony and our full page ad for http://www.thegrindhouse.net/

Cenitpede Horror Sales Climb!

Apprehensive Films' DVD release of the obscure asian gorefest Centipede Horror continues to do well. Thanks to the interest in the new indie film, Human Centipede, our sales have jumped up significantly. Whether it's a centipede made out of humans or the real thing, centipedes are hot!

The most vile and notorious of all the nature run amuck movies, Centipede Horror is presented here uncut in all it's glory. This was shot in South East Asia using only real giant centipedes. Centipedes are highly venemous and they are crawling in and out of all kinds of places they don't belong in this truly one of a kind film. Get it at http://www.thegrindhouse.net/ for more information on all of Apprehensive Films' releases check out http://www.afcinema.net/
